    ANNOUNCES A PUBLIC OVERSIGHT ROUNDTABLE

    the plan for closure of DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA public SCHOOL facilities and related implications for the Department of general services (“dgs”)

    On November 27, 2012, Councilmember Muriel Bowser, Chairperson of the Committee on Government Operations, will hold a public oversight roundtable to review the implications for the Department of General Services (“DGS”) of the proposed closure of some District of Columbia Public Schools facilities; the announcement of which was made November 13, 2012. Specifically, the roundtable will review the maintenance of the closed buildings, property management issues related to the planned closures, and the Executive’s plan for surplussing of closed facilities. The public oversight roundtable will begin at 5:00 PM in Room 500 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. 

     

    Individuals and representatives of organizations wishing to testify should contact Randy Hull, Legislative Counsel to the Committee on Government Operations, at (202) 724-8272, or rhull@dccouncil.us and furnish their name, address, telephone number, and organizational affiliation, if any, by the close of business Monday, November 26, 2012.  Persons presenting testimony may be limited to 3 minutes in order to permit each witness an opportunity to be heard.
