    IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

     

    October 16, 2012

     

     

    To approve the proposed rulemaking to amend Title 25A of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations to update the Food Code regulations to reflect new industry standards recommended by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

     

    RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this resolution may be cited as the “District of Columbia Retail Food Code Approval Resolution of 2012”.

     

                Sec. 2.  Pursuant to sections 4 and 10 of An Act Relating to the adulteration of foods and drugs in the District of Columbia, approved February 17, 1898 (30 Stat. 246; D.C. Official Code §§ 48-104 and 48-110), the Mayor, on July 2, 2012, transmitted to the Council proposed rules to amend Title 25A of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations to update the Food Code regulations.  The Council approves the proposed rules to amend Title 25A of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations.   

     

    Sec. 3.  Transmittal.

    The Secretary to the Council shall transmit a copy of this resolution, upon its adoption, to the Mayor and Director of the Department of Health.

     

                Sec. 4.  Fiscal impact statement.

    The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal impact statement required by section 602(c)(3) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code § 1-206.02(c)(3)).

     

    Sec. 5.  Effective date.

    This resolution shall take effect immediately.
