IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

 

October 16, 2012

 

 

To confirm the appointment of Mr. Christopher T. Geldart as the Director of the Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency.

 

            RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this resolution may be cited as the “Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency Director Christopher T. Geldart Confirmation Resolution of 2012”.

 

            Sec. 2.  The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

 

Mr. Christopher T. Geldart

254 10th Street, S.E.

Washington, D.C. 20003

            (Ward 6)

 

as the Director of the Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency, established by

section 2 of An Act To authorize the District of Columbia government to establish an Office of

Civil Defense, and for other purposes, approved August 11, 1950 (64 Stat. 438; D.C. Official

Code § 7-2202), and in accordance with section 2 of the Confirmation Act of 1978, effective March 3, 1979 (D.C. Law 2-142; D.C. Official Code § 1-523.01), to serve at the pleasure of the Mayor.

 

            Sec. 3.  The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution, upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.

 

            Sec. 4.  This resolution shall take effect immediately.
