    Councilmember Jack Evans, Chairman of the Committee on Finance and Revenue, announces a public hearing to be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., in Room 120 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20004.

     

    PR19-1062, the “Real Property Tax Appeals Commission Sean A. Warfield Confirmation Resolution of 2012” would confirm the appointment of Sean A. Warfield as a part-time member of the Real Property Tax Appeals Commission, for a term to end April 30, 2016.

    PR19-1063, the “Real Property Tax Appeals Commission Frank Sanders, Jr. Confirmation Resolution of 2012” would confirm the reappointment of Frank Sanders, Jr. as a full-time member of the Real Property Tax Appeals Commission, for a term to end April 30, 2017.

    B19-800, the “Israel Senior Residences Tax Exemption of 2012” would amend Chapter 46 of Title 47 of the District of Columbia Official Code to provide real property tax exemptions and to provide an exemption from permit fees and other financial impositions with respect to the Israel Senior Residences project.  The project is located at 10th and Rhode Island Avenue, NE in Ward 5.

    B19-1007, the “Residential Real Property Tax Relief Act of 2012” would amend Title 47 of the District of Columbia Official Code to lower the cap on real property assessment increases from 10% to 5% and to abolish the requirement that residential real property be assessed at a minimum of 40% of the value of the home regardless of the cap.

    Bill 19-1010, the “Howard Town Center Real Property Tax Abatement Act of 2012” would amend Title 47 of the District of Columbia Official Code to provide a ten-year abatement of real property taxes for the Howard Town Center project.  The project is located at Georgia Avenue, 8th St, W and V Streets, NW in Ward 1.
