    COMMITTEE ON BUSINESS, CONSUMER, AND REGULATORY AFFAIRS

     

    Review of District Agencies’ Compliance with Small Business Enterprise Expenditure Goals

    Councilmember Vincent B. Orange, Sr. announces that the public oversight roundtable of the Committee on Business, Consumer, and Regulatory Affairs scheduled for December 11, 2013 to review District government agencies’ compliance with small business enterprise (SBE)  utilization requirements has been rescheduled for Friday, December 20, 2013, 9 a.m., Room 500 of the John A. Wilson Building.  The roundtable is being rescheduled because of the interruptions to government functions during the recent snow storm.  This notice is being revised to inform the public and other interested parties of the change in schedule.

     

    The public oversight roundtable is scheduled for Friday, December 20, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. in Room 500 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.  The purpose of the public oversight roundtable to is to hear from the Department of Small and Local Business Development, the Office of the District of Columbia Auditor, and appropriate District government agencies on compliance with SBE utilization requirements.  Interested parties are also invited to testify.

     

    Individuals and representatives of organizations who wish to testify at the public oversight roundtable and have not so indicated to the Committee are asked to contact Ms. Faye Caldwell of the Committee on Business, Consumer, and Regulatory Affairs at (202) 727-6683 or by email at fcaldwell@dccouncil.us.  Witnesses who have not already furnished their names, addresses, telephone number, email address, and organizational affiliation, if any, are asked to do so by the close of business, Friday, December 13, 2013.  Each witness is requested to bring 20 copies of his/her written testimony.  Representatives of organizations and government agencies will be limited to 5 minutes in order to permit each witness an opportunity to be heard.  Individual witnesses will be limited to 3 minutes.

     

    If you are unable to testify at the roundtable, written statements are encouraged and will be made part of the official record.  The official record will remain open until the close of business of Friday, January 2, 2014.  Copies of written statements should be submitted to the Committee on Business, Consumer, and Regulatory Affairs, Council of the District of Columbia, Suite G-6, of the John A.
