THIS CASE IS OF INTEREST TO ANC 2A

On November 2, 2011, the Office of Zoning received an application from The George Washington University (the “Applicant”).  The Applicant is requesting second-stage PUD approval of a PUD in order to permit the construction of The George Washington University Museum (“GW Museum”) on the Property, which is described below.  The Applicant also requested further processing approval for the project under its approved campus plan.

The Office of Planning provided its report on December 30, 2011, and the second-stage PUD application was set down for hearing on January 9, 2012.  The Applicant provided its prehearing statement on January 20, 2012.  The application for further processing will be heard in conjunction with the second-stage PUD application.

The property that is the subject of this application consists of approximately 13,811 square feet of land area and is located in the southwest corner of Square 102, at the intersection of 21st Street NW and G Street NW.  The subject property is comprised of the Woodhull House, a historic landmark, and Development Site 102, which was designated as a future development site under the Foggy Bottom Campus Plan and related First-Stage PUD that were approved by the Zoning Commission in Order No. 06-11 / 06‑12.  The Property is located in the Institutional land use category on the Future Land Use Map of the District of Columbia Comprehensive Plan.
