Bill 21-402, the “Ingleside Presbyterian Retirement Community, Inc. Real Property Tax Exemption and Real Property Tax Relief Act of 2015”

Councilmember Jack Evans, Chairman of the Committee on Finance and Revenue, announces a public hearing to be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 120 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20004.
Bill 21-402, the “Ingleside Presbyterian Retirement Community, Inc. Real Property Tax Exemption and Real Property Tax Relief Act of 2015”, would amend Chapter 10 of Title of the District of Columbia Official Code to provide real property tax relief for Lots 802 and 809 in Square 2287, owned by Ingleside Presbyterian Retirement Community, Inc. (“Ingleside”), and to provide equitable real property tax relief to Ingleside. The property is located at 3050 Military Road, NW. The bill also provides for all real property taxes, interest, penalties, fees and other related charges assessed against the property owned, be forgiven for a period beginning with tax year 2015 through the effective date of the act.
The Committee invites the public to testify at the hearing. Those who wish to testify should contact Sarina Loy, Committee Aide at (202) 724-8058 or sloy@dccouncil.us, and provide your name, organizational affiliation (if any), and title with the organization by 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2016. Witnesses should bring 15 copies of their written testimony to the hearing. The Committee allows individuals 3 minutes to provide oral testimony in order to permit each witness an opportunity to be heard. Additional written statements are encouraged and will be made part of the official record. Written statements may be submitted by e-mail to sloy@dccouncil.us or mailed to: Council of the District of Columbia, 1350 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W., Suite 114, Washington D.C. 20004. This notice is being revised and abbreviated to change the date and location of the original hearing from the Council Chamber, Room 500 on Wednesday, April 13th to Room 120 on Monday, April 18th.
