    PR 20-728, Settlements and Interest Arbitration Award between the District of Columbia government and the Fraternal Order of Police MPD Labor Committee (Compensation Unit 3) Emergency Approval Resolution of 2014

           Council Chairman Phil Mendelson announces the scheduling of a public roundtable of the Committee of the Whole on PR 20-717, the “Compensation Award for the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Government of the District of Columbia Department of Health, Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services; Department on Disability Services, Department of Health Care Finance, Child and Family Services Agency and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (Compensation Unit 13) and the District of Columbia Nurses Association Emergency Approval Resolution of 2014;” PR 20-723, the “Compensation Collective Bargaining Agreement between the District of Columbia Department of Behavioral Health and Public Service Employees Local 572, Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA) affiliated with AFL-CIO Emergency Approval Resolution of 2014;” and PR 20-728, the “Settlements and Interest Arbitration Award between the District of Columbia government and the Fraternal Order of Police MPD Labor Committee (Compensation Unit 3) Emergency Approval Resolution of 2014.”  The roundtable will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 in Room 120 of the John A. Wilson Building.

     

                 The stated purpose of PR 20-717 is to approve a compensation agreement between the District government’s Compensation Unit 13 and the District of Columbia Nurses Association.  The stated purpose of PR 20-728 is to approve the negotiated Settlements and Interest Arbitration Award submitted by the Mayor for employees of the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department (Compensation Unit 3).  The stated purpose of PR20-728 is to approve the negotiated compensation collective bargaining agreement submitted by the Mayor between the District of Columbia Department of Behavioral Health and Public Service Employees Local 572, Laborers International Union of North America, affiliated with AFL-CIO.

     

    Those who wish to testify should contact Ms. Jessica Jacobs, Legislative Counsel, at (202) 724-8196, or via e-mail at jjacobs@dccouncil.us, and provide their name, address, telephone number, organizational affiliation and title (if any) by close of business Friday, April 25, 2014.  Persons wishing to testify are encouraged, but not required, to submit 15 copies of written testimony.  If submitted by the close of business on April 25, 2014 the testimony will be distributed to Councilmembers before the roundtable.  Witnesses should limit their testimony to four minutes unless otherwise arranged with the Committee; less time will be allowed if there are a large number of witnesses.  A copy of the PRs can be obtained through the Legislative Services Division of the Secretary of the Council’s office or on http://lims.dccouncil.us.

     

    If you are unable to testify at the roundtable, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record.  Copies of written statements should be submitted to the Committee of the Whole, Council of the District of Columbia, Suite 410 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20004.  The record will close at noon on May 5, 2014.
