NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Weatherization Assistance Program
The District Department of the Environment (DDOE) will hold a public hearing on the proposed revisions to the State Plan for the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP). The hearing will be held on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 10:00 am at DDOE’s headquarters, 1200 First Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002; Conference Room 718. Attendees must report to the reception area on the 5th floor.
WAP provides weatherization services to help reduce energy costs in low-income households, particularly those with the elderly, people with disabilities, and children. The program also helps to ensure their health and safety. Program activities under WAP are funded by the United States Department of Energy, and authorized by the U.S. Department of Energy as governed by Title IV, Part A, Energy Conservation Policy Act, P.L. 94-385, and as amended by the State Energy Efficiency Programs Improvement Act of 1990, P.L. 101-440 and by other applicable federal and District of Columbia laws and regulations.

Persons wishing to testify may submit a written testimony to Mrs. LaWanda Jones, Program Manager for WAP, no later than Friday, April 20, 2012. If a written testimony cannot be provided prior to the hearing date, individuals will have only five minutes to verbally present their testimony.
The revised WAP State Plan will not be mailed to requesters. Copies of the State Plan will be available for pick-up, one per requestor, on weekdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm beginning Friday, April 6, 2012 at the following address: District Department of the Environment, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Division, 1200 First Street, NE, 5th Floor, Washington, DC 20002
