A CEREMONIAL RESOLUTION

IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

To recognize Jacob Drozdowski for achieving the Boy Scouts of America’s highest honor, the Eagle Scout Award.
WHEREAS, Jacob Drozdowski is a lifelong Ward 6 resident of the District of Columbia and a senior at the School Without Walls;
WHEREAS, Jacob Drozdowski is a member of Boy Scout Troop 500, housed at Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church in Southeast;
WHEREAS, Jacob Drozdowski has been an active scouter since he was 7 years old, beginning as a Tiger Cub Scout in the 1st grade;
WHEREAS, Jacob Drozdowski has achieved awards in multiple disciplines, including emergency preparedness, hiking, personal fitness, public speaking, music, and swimming;
WHEREAS, Jacob Drozdowski in 6 years earned the 21 merit badges required by the Boy Scouts of America to qualify for the rank of Eagle Scout;
WHEREAS, Jacob Drozdowski has been recognized by his peers through election to the Order of the Arrow, the national honor society for scouting;
WHEREAS, Jacob Drozdowski, as his Eagle Scout project and service with the Boy Scouts of America, organized the fundraising for and construction of 3 new picnic tables and repaired several others for the Sasha Bruce Youth Works residential center, located at 1022 Maryland Avenue, N.E., which supports programs for at-risk youth in the District of Columbia;
WHEREAS, Jacob Drozdowski is actively engaged in his church through spiritual servitude;
WHEREAS, Jacob Drozdowski has earned the highest rank in Boy Scouts of America, Eagle Scout, and will be awarded the medal on June 11, 2016, at Naval Lodge No. 4, located on Capitol Hill; and
WHEREAS, Jacob Drozdowski has committed to the responsibilities of an Eagle Scout: To live with honor, loyalty, courage, cheerfulness, and service.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this resolution may be cited as the “Jacob Drozdowski Eagle Scout Recognition Resolution of 2016”.
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia recognizes Jacob Drozdowski for achieving the Boy Scouts of America’s highest honor, the Eagle Scout Award.
Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon the first date of publication in the District of Columbia Register.
