    Review of the Office of the Inspector General Report Entitled the “Audit of District of Columbia Agencies’ Compliance with Small Business Enterprise Expenditure Goals”

    Councilmember Vincent B. Orange, Sr. announces the scheduling of a public roundtable by the Committee on Business, Consumer, and Regulatory Affairs to review the Office of the Inspector General Report Entitled the “Audit of District of Columbia Agencies’ Compliance with Small Business Enterprise Expenditure Goals.” The public roundtable is scheduled for Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 412 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC 20004. 

     

    The purpose of the public roundtable is to review the Office of the Inspector General Report on the significant decline in District agencies expendable budgets reported by the Department of Small and Local Business Development during Fiscal Year 2014. The hearing will focus on the recommendations made by the Office of the Inspector General to provide better oversight in making sure District agencies’ spend 50 percent of their expendable budgets with District businesses.

     

    Individuals and representatives of organizations who wish to testify at the public roundtable are asked to contact Ms. Faye Caldwell, Special Assistant to the Committee on Business, Consumer, and Regulatory Affairs, at (202) 727-6683, or via e-mail at fcaldwell@dccouncil.us and furnish their names, addresses, telephone numbers, and organizational affiliation, if any, by the close of business Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Each witness is requested to bring 20 copies of his/her written testimony. Representatives of organizations and government agencies will be limited to 5 minutes in order to permit each witness an opportunity to be heard. Individual witnesses will be limited to 3 minutes.

     

    If you are unable to testify at the hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record.  The official record will remain open until close of business Friday, July 24, 2015.  Copies of written statements should be submitted to the Committee on Business, Consumer, and Regulatory Affairs, Council of the District of Columbia, Suite 119 of the John A.
