    NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULEMAKING

     

     

    The Director of the Department of Health, pursuant to the authority set forth in section 302(14) of the District of Columbia Health Occupations Revision Act of 1985, effective March 25, 1986 (D.C. Law 6-99; D.C. Official Code § 3-1203.02(14)(2007 Repl.); D.C. Official Code § 3-1202.17(2007 Repl.)), and Mayor’s Order 98-140, dated August 20, 1998, hereby gives notice of his intent to adopt the following amendments to chapter 77 (Marriage and Family Therapy) of title 17 (Business, Occupations, and Professions) of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations (DCMR) in not less than thirty (30) days after the publication of this notice in the D.C. Register

     

    The proposed amendments will list the organizations the Board of Marriage and Family Therapy approves to provide continuing education courses to its licensees.

     

    Chapter 77, MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY, of title 17, BUSINESS, OCCUPATIONS, AND PROFESSIONS, of the DCMR is amended as follows:

     

    Section 7707.8 is amended to read as follows:

     

    7707.8             The Board shall accept for continuing education credit any credits or courses sponsored by the following organizations:

     

    (a)        The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT);

     

    (b)        The National Association of Social Workers (NASW);

     

    (c)        The American Psychological Association (APA);

     

    (d)       The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC); or

     

    (e)        Other state Marriage and Family Therapy boards.

     

     

    The current 7707.8-7707.11 shall be re-numbered as 7707.9-7707.12.

                           

    All persons desiring to comment on the subject matter of this proposed rulemaking should file comments in writing not later than thirty days after the date of publication of this notice in the D.C. Register.  Comments should be sent to the Department of Health, Office of the General Counsel, 899 North Capitol Street, N.E., 4th Floor, Washington, D.C. 20002.  Copies of the proposed rule may be obtained from the Department at the same address during the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays
