NOTICE OF FINAL RULEMAKINGThe Director of the Department of Health, pursuant to the authority set forth in section 302(14) of the District of Columbia Health Occupations Revision Act of 1985, effective March 25, 1986 (D.C. Law 6-99; D.C. Official Code § 3-1203.02(14)), and Mayor’s Order 98-140, dated August 20, 1998, hereby gives notice of the adoption of the following amendment to Chapter 85, Licensed, Registered, or Certified Health Professional Criminal Background Checks, of Title 17, Business, Occupations, and Professions, of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations (DCMR).
The purpose of the amendment is to repeal the provision that allowed certain applicants for a health professions license, registration, or certification to forgo a criminal background check if he or she had a criminal background check conducted within four (4) years before the date of submission of the application.
These rules were published as proposed rulemaking in the D.C. Register on April 2, 2010, at 57 DCR 2975. No comments have been received in connection with this notice and no substantive changes have been made to the regulations. These regulations will become effective upon publication of this notice in the D.C. Register.
Chapter 85, Licensed, Registered, or Certified Health Professional Criminal Background Checks, of Title 17, Business, Occupations, and Professions, of the DCMR is amended as follows:
Section 8501.4 is repealed.
