Councilmember Tommy Wells, Chairperson of the Committee on Libraries, Parks, Recreation, and Planning, will convene a public oversight roundtable on the Department of Parks and Recreation summer 2012 programs at fields, aquatic centers, and recreation centers; and the Department of Parks and Recreation permitting process and residency requirements for facility use. The public oversight roundtable will be held on Thursday September 20, 2012, beginning at 1:00 p.m. in Room 412 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20004.
The Committee invites the public to testify. Individuals and representatives of organizations who wish to testify should contact Tawanna Shuford at 724-8204 or tshuford@dccouncil.us, and furnish their name, address, telephone number, and organizational affiliation, if any, by 5 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2012. Witnesses should bring 15 copies of their testimony. Testimony may be limited to 3 minutes for individuals and 5 minutes for those representing organizations or groups.
If you are unable to testify at the public oversight roundtable, written statements are encouraged and will be made part of the official record. Written statements should be submitted by 5 pm Monday September 24, 2012 to Ms. Shuford, Committee on Libraries, Parks, Recreation, and Planning, Room 117, 1350 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington, DC, 20004, or via email at tshuford@dccouncil.us.
