Councilmember Vincent B. Orange, Sr. announces the scheduling of a public hearing by the Committee on Business, Consumer, and Regulatory Affairs on B20-891, the “Office of Motion Picture and Television Development Director Confirmation Act of 2014” and B20-902, the “Omnibus Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Amendment Act of 2014”. The public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 123 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20004.
B20-844, the “Office of Motion Picture and Television Development Director Confirmation Act of 2014” establishes the Office of Motion Picture and Television Development and requires that the Mayoral nomination of the Director of the Office of Motion Picture and Television Development be subject to the affirmative approval of the Council.
B20-902, the “Omnibus Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Amendment Act of 2014” amends Title 25 of the District of Columbia Official Code to create a new festival license; clarify that the Ward 4 moratorium applies to Class A and Class B off-premises licenses; clarify that Settlement Agreements are not enforceable when a license is transferred to a new location; delete the requirement that licenses must apply annually for holiday extended hours; and provide authority for the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration investigators to seize a suspended, revoked or cancelled license.

Each witness is requested to bring 20 copies of his/her written testimony. Representatives of organizations and government agencies will be limited to 5 minutes in order to permit each witness an opportunity to be heard. Individual witnesses will be limited to 3 minutes.
If you are unable to testify at the public hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record. The official record will remain open until close of business Thursday, October 30, 2014.
