    PR 19-819, the "Central 14th Street Corridor Small Area Action Plan

    Approval Resolution of 2012"

    Councilmember Tommy Wells, Chairperson of the Committee on Libraries, Parks, Recreation, and Planning, announces a public hearing on PR 19-819, the "Central 14th Street Corridor Small Area Action Plan Approval Resolution of 2012".  The public hearing is scheduled for Monday, October 22, 2012, at 1pm in Room 500 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.

     

    PR 19-819 would approve a small area action plan (“Plan”) for the Central 14th Street corridor in Ward 4 and includes the neighborhoods of 16th Street Heights, Brightwood, Crestwood, Petworth, and Columbia Heights. The purpose of the Plan is to direct economic growth along 14th Street and improve neighborhood retail choices and amenities along the corridor. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive testimony from the public and from the Office of Planning on this proposed resolution.

     

    The Committee invites the public to testify. Testimony may be limited to 3 minutes for individuals and 5 minutes for those representing organizations or groups. Individuals and representatives of organizations who wish to testify should contact Tawanna Shuford at 727-8232 or tshuford@dccouncil.us, and furnish their name, address, telephone number, and organizational affiliation (if any) by 5:00 pm on Thursday, October 18, 2012. Witnesses are encouraged to bring 15 copies of their testimony and, if possible, to email an electronic copy to Ms. Shuford.

     

    If you are unable to testify at the public hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made part of the official record.
