DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL BOARD

NOTIFICATION OF CHARTER AMENDMENT

The District of Columbia Public Charter School Board (DC PCSB) hereby gives notice of Meridian Public Charter School’s (Meridian PCS) request to amend its goals and academic achievement expectations. Meridian PCS is requesting to adopt DC PCSB’s Performance Management Framework as its goals and academic expectations, and use the following assessments for the grade levels it serves: NWEA MAP for K-2 Literacy, NWEA MAP for K-2 Math and TS Gold for Preschool and Prekindergarten. The school reports that due to recent changes with the use of Common Core State Standards and the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) assessments, Meridian PCS’s goals, as written, do not fully measure the school’s current program. Therefore, if approved, this amendment will be effective for SY 2016-2017 and beyond.
