Council Chairman Phil Mendelson announces the scheduling of a Public Roundtable by the Committee of the Whole on, PR19-813, the “Public Charter School Board Donald F. Soifer Confirmation Resolution of 2012.” The roundtable will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in Room 412 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.
The purpose of the public roundtable is to provide the public an opportunity to comment on the Mayor’s nomination of Donald F. Soifer for reappointment to the Public Charter School Board. Mr. Soifer has served in a holdover capacity since February 2012 and is proposed for a term to end in February 2016.
Those who wish to testify are asked to telephone the Committee of the Whole, at
724-8196, or e-mail Erika Wadlington, Legislative Assistant, at EWadlington@dccouncil.us and furnish their name, address, telephone number, and organizational affiliation, if any, by the close of business Monday, October 8, 2012. Persons wishing to testify are encouraged, but not required, to submit 15 copies of written testimony. If submitted by the close of business on October 8, 2012 the testimony will be distributed to Councilmembers before the roundtable. Witnesses should limit their testimony to four minutes in order to permit each witness an opportunity to be heard.If you are unable to testify at the roundtable, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record. Copies of written statements should be submitted to the Committee of the Whole, Council of the District of Columbia, Suite 506 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20004. The record will close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012.
