Section 29-6700. GENERAL PROVISIONS

6700.1The purpose of this Chapter is to identify those services subject to recovery by the Medicaid program after the death of the Medicaid recipient; define the criteria for estate recoveries and circumstances where the District may waive recovery based on undue hardship or where recovery is not cost effective; and establish the collection process and appeal procedures of affected parties.

6700.2These rules shall be consistent with the requirements set forth in sections 1902 (a) and 1917 (a), (b) and (c) of the Social Security Act and attendant regulations.
