Section 8-A1200. EMPLOYEE CONDUCT

1200.1Each employee of the District of Columbia School of Law shall at all times maintain a high level of ethical conduct in connection with the performance of his or her official duties, and shall refrain from taking, ordering, or participating in any official action that would adversely affect the confidence of the public in the integrity of the School of Law.
1200.2Each employee of the School of Law shall adhere to the rules of the School of Law in the performance of his or her responsibilities and official duties.
1200.3Each employee of the School of Law shall be subject to the standards of ethical conduct adopted by the Mayor pursuant to the provisions of D.C. Code, §1-619.1.
1200.4In accordance with D.C. Code, §1-619.2, no employee of the School of Law shall engage in outside employment or private business activity or have any direct or indirect financial interest that conflicts or would appear to conflict with the fair, impartial, and objective performance of officially assigned duties and responsibilities.
1200.5The Dean or the Dean's designee shall ensure that each employee is informed of the standards of conduct required under this section.
1200.6An employee who fails to comply with the rules of the School of Law shall be subject to discipline or discharge, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 17 of this title.
1200.7The personal behavior of an employee during non-duty hours shall not be subject to disciplinary or punitive action by the School of Law unless the behavior or actions of the employee directly affect the employee's performance or ability to perform his or her official duties.
1200.8In accordance with D.C. Code, §1-619.3, the Dean shall appoint a member of the staff of the School of Law to serve as ethics counselor for the employees of the School of Law.
