Section 8-A1802. AUTHORIZATION OF A REDUCTION IN FORCE

    1802.1If the Dean determines that a reduction in personnel is required pursuant to §1800.5, the Dean shall require that a reduction in force plan be prepared for his or her approval prior to the implementation of the reduction in force.

     

    1802.2The reduction in force plan shall identify the positions to be abolished by position number, title, series, grade, and organizational location, and the reason for abolishing the position.

     

    1802.3During a reduction in force, the Dean may increase or decrease the number of positions previously identified for abolishment, or make other changes due to funding changes; the number of transfers, retirements, or other voluntary separations; or other reasons affecting the School of Law.

     

    1802.4Prior to approving the reduction in force plan, the Dean shall ensure that no School of Law employee is serving on an unauthorized detail. Any employee serving on an unauthorized detail, or serving on a detail beyond the time period allowed for detail under this title, shall be returned to his or her position of record prior to the approval of the reduction in force plan.

     

    1802.5Written approval by the Dean of the reduction in force plan, including any amendment to the plan, shall constitute the authorization for the School of Law to conduct a reduction in force.
