Section 8-B1422. FACULTY EVALUATION

    1422.1The evaluation process shall be used to assess the quality and work of the faculty and to encourage and assist in the improvement of faculty performance.

     

    1422.2While evaluation is a continuing process, a summary assessment shall be submitted annually for each non-tenured faculty member and periodically for tenured faculty.

     

    1422.3Performance expectations and evaluations shall be congruent with resources and facilities made available by the University.

     

    1422.4Every effort shall be made to ensure fairness, careful judgment, and impartiality in the evaluation process.

     

    1422.5Detailed evaluation criteria and procedures shall be developed by each department (or unit) and approved by the appropriate college. The criteria and procedures shall be consistent with guidelines issued by the Vice President for Academic Affairs in accordance with applicable provisions of this chapter.

     

    1422.6Each department chairperson shall ensure that each faculty member is provided with all policies, guidelines, and procedures related to the evaluation process at the beginning of each academic year. Each faculty member shall be given information about the expectations and goals of the University, the college, and the department.
