Section 24-701. MOBILE SOUND UNITS

    701.1Persons wishing to obtain a permit for a mobile sound unit shall submit an application in writing, or in person, to the Chief of Police.

     

    701.2Application for a mobile sound unit permit shall be made two (2) weeks before the permit is to be used.

     

    701.3The applicant shall supply the following information:

     

    (a)The applicant's full name, address, and phone number;

     

    (b)The name of the organization requesting the permit (if any), and the applicant's official position in the organization;

     

    (c)The purpose for the sound unit; and

     

    (d)The license number and description of the vehicle to be used.

     

    701.4Permits shall be issued only for sound units operating for a community, civic, or electoral purpose.

     

    701.5Permits shall not be issued for commercial advertising purposes.

     

    701.6All sound units are subject to applicable District laws and regulations governing noise control.
