Section 25-A1502. CLEANABILITY - FOOD-CONTACT SURFACES

    1502.1Multiuse food-contact surfaces shall be: 

     

    (a)Smooth; Pf

     

    (b)Free of breaks, open seams, cracks, chips, inclusions, pits, and similar  imperfections; Pf

     

    (c)Free of sharp internal angles, corners, and crevices; Pf and

     

    (d)Finished to have smooth welds and joints. Pf

     

    1502.2Multiuse food-contact surfaces shall be accessible for cleaning and inspection by one (1) of the following methods: 

     

    (a)Without being disassembled; Pf

     

    (b)By disassembling without the use of tools; Pf or

     

    (c)By easy disassembling with the use of handheld tools commonly available  to maintenance and cleaning personnel such as screwdrivers, pliers, open- end wrenches, and Allen wrenches. Pf 

     

    1502.3Subsection 1502.2 does not apply to cooking oil storage tanks, distribution lines for cooling oils, or beverage syrup lines or tubes.
