4722.1Any person who knowingly violates any provision of this Code shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000), imprisonment not to exceed one (1) year or both for each violation. Each day of any failure to comply with this Code shall constitute a separate offense and the penalties prescribed in this section shall apply to each separate offense in accordance with the Food Regulation Amendment Act of 2002, effective May 2, 2002 (D.C. Law 14-116; D.C. Official Code §§ 48-101 et seq.).
